After a long hiatus due to COVID-restrictions
Reykjavik Lettering returns with another exciting handlettering workshop – this time devoted to:

the art of chalkboard-lettering.

What is Chalkboard-lettering?

,,Quiet Life"
by Dana Tanamachi

Chalkboard lettering is the art of visually articulating and composing a message for a blackboard, using different types of fonts, layouts, colors, textures and illustrations.

The field has emerged with many prominent handlettering artists in recent years, among others Dana Tanamachi, Ian Barnard, Annica Lydenberg and Tim Bontan (just to name few – we are a league of hundreds, if not thousands!)

In this 3-day workshop ( 3 x 2 hours group sessions) you will be introduced to the wonderworld of handlettering. We‘ll cover everything from letter-drawing anatomy to getting familiar with all the best tools of the trade.

We‘ll explore how to build your own layouts, so you can expand your creativity on everything ranging from a blackboard to wine bottles, shoes, garments and…well, in fact everything you want to enrich with your creative spirit.
